What parts of the Bible do Muslims believe in?
Muhammad speaks glowingly of the Bible in several verses of the Qu’ran and in the Hadith, saying they were inspired by Allah as well, but also states that they have been corrupted by generations of Jews and Christians (which is archaologically improbable anyways, but that’s not the point). Is there a concensus among muslim scholars on which parts of the Bible hold veracity and which ones were added/redacted later?

Muslims believe the Jewish and Christians holy books to be older revelations from God. They believe that the Quran is the final, true word of Allah.

SIMPLE & PLAIN ANSWER:

The part of the Bible which matches with the Qur’an is true. Like Bible says Earth is Flat instead Qur’an says earth likely an egg shape. Bible says God rested after 6 days creation, Qur’an says God didn’t rest after 6 days creation. Bible says God eats, Qur’an says God doesn’t need to eat, Bible says God couldn’t help Judah, Qur’an says God can do what he willeth. Bible says God’s Prophet did incest and commit adultery with women. Qur’an denies and says Prophets of God are sinless and honour to their master.

Bible says Jesus is Messiah, Qur’an confirms it. Bible says Moses was sent to Pharaoh, Qur’an confirms it. Bible says Muhammad will come after Jesus, Qur’an confirms it. Bible says Mary was Virgin, Qur’an confirms it. Bible says Adam and Eve sinned and weren’t forgiven, Qur’an denies it and says they were forgiven by God after disobeying him.

So the things which matches with the Qur’an is true, and the things which goes opposite are false. Watch this:

"Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands, and then say:"This is from Allah," to traffic with it for miserable price!- Woe to them for what their hands do write, and for the gain they make thereby." [Qur'an 2:79]

What happened to the real Bible?:

No problem.. TROLL! Actually the sickness is written in your own scripture. You got words of God, words of Prophet, words of Historians and Pornography ALL in one = Bible.

Judges 1:19 (God couldn’t help Judah)
Genesis 18:6-8 (God and Angels ate)

There are some false Hadiths written 900 years after Muhammad. How to confirm them? If they match not with the Qur’an so they’re false, including your Hadith (goat eating paper). By the way you just copy and paste stuffs from internet.

"It is We Who shall truly guard it (Qur’an).

How do I end this friendship without hurting her and dragging her down worse than she is?
Thank you for reading…

I have a friend who got herself into a terrible codependent relationship with a pot addict and alcoholic. Its been 4 months since she made the worst decision of her life (so she says) and allowed him to move in with her and take over her life.

She supports him — She does nothing but complain and talk about how much she feels like an idiot and hates herself for what she did…….and then the next minute makes every excuse in the book as to why she cannot simply just THROW HIM OUT and change the locks.

We are in our 30s. She is childless and single. She makes 55g a year. I have been through serious trauma in my own life — and I have lost respect for her because everyone I know has offered her tons of help and yet she still refuses to help herself. I know she has low-self esteem….but she just will not help herself at this point. AFter watching people suffer around the world — and in our nation to try to GET healthcare and to be in her shoes —- its sickening how she allows her life to be ruined over this pathetic excuse for a person.

I participated in this friendship for 4 months of non-judgemental, supportive listening, encouragement, offers of help, tears, etc.

I simply cannot do it anymore, I hve reached my limit.

\I have no respect left for her. Again, I am not a cold person — I am sad to see this end, but I can’t get 2 long hostile emails from her a day about it — make suggestions, offer hope, try to be supportive, boost her self-esteem, when she does NOTHING for herself….not even pay her 100 a month to keep her own health insurance….?!

If she can’t help herself, I can’t be drug along for the ride….

Advice? How do I end my involvement and draw a boundary without hurting her?

What should I wear under an Evening Gown to diminish my tummy/sides?
Hello! I’m going to be a local pageant, one that could eventually lead to Miss America.

I have bought an amazing gown, but I wish I could slim my stomach a little more so the fabric lays nicely over my midriff.

I’m 5′9” and a little over 120 lbs. I will be working out and dieting, but the pageant is in a month, so I was wondering if anyone had advice on a Spanx type of thing that would smooth my midriff and sides, but be comfortable (not ride up or roll down) and not show any panty lines.

So my main question is, what product has worked, in your experience, to slim you a bit for proms, weddings, christmas parties, pageants, etc.?????

Anything helps! Please give me links! Thanks so much!

Canada!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
ritish newspaper salutes Canada . . . this is a good read. It is funny how it took someone in England to put it into words…
> Sunday Telegraph article from UK wires: Salute to a brave and modest nation – Kevin Myers, ‘The Sunday Telegraph’ London:

> Until the deaths of Canadian soldiers killed in Afghanistan, probably almost no one outside their home country had been aware that Canadian troops are deployed in the region.

> And as always, Canada will bury its dead, just as the rest of the world, as always will forget its sacrifice, just as it always forgets nearly everything Canada ever does. It seems that Canada’s historic mission is to come to the selfless aid both of its friends and of complete strangers, and then, once the crisis is over, to be well and truly ignored.

> Canada is the perpetual wallflower that stands on the edge of the hall, waiting for someone to come and ask her for a dance. A fire breaks out, she risks life and limb to rescue her fellow dance-goers, and suffers serious injuries. But when the hall is repaired and the dancing resumes, there is Canada, the wallflower still, while those she once helped glamorously cavort across the floor, blithely neglecting her yet again.

> That is the price Canada pays for sharing the North American continent with the United States, and for being a selfless friend of Britain in two global conflicts.

> For much of the 20th century, Canada was torn in two different directions: it seemed to be a part of the old world, yet had an address in the new one, and that divided identity ensured that it never fully got the gratitude it deserved.

> Yet its purely voluntary contribution to the cause of freedom in two world wars was perhaps the greatest of any democracy. Almost 10% of Canada ’s entire population of seven million people served in the armed forces during the First World War, and nearly 60,000 died. The great Allied victories of 1918 were spearheaded by Canadian troops, perhaps the most capable soldiers in the entire British order of battle.

> Canada was repaid for its enormous sacrifice by downright neglect, it’s unique contribution to victory being absorbed into the popular memory as somehow or other the work of the ‘British.’

> The Second World War provided a re-run. The Canadian navy began the war with a half dozen vessels, and ended up policing nearly half of the Atlantic against U-boat attack. More than 120 Canadian warships participated in the Normandy landings, during which 15,000 Canadian soldiers went ashore on D-Day alone.

> Canada finished the war with the third-largest navy and the fourth largest air force in the world. The world thanked Canada with the same sublime indifference as it had the previous time.

> Canadian participation in the war was acknowledged in film only if it was necessary to give an American actor a part in a campaign in which the United States had clearly not participated – a touching scrupulousness which, of course, Hollywood has since abandoned, as if it has any notion of a separate Canadian identity.

> So it is a general rule that actors and filmmakers arriving in Hollywood keep their nationality – unless, that is, they are Canadian. Thus Mary Pickford, Walter Huston, Donald Sutherland, Michael J. Fox, William Shatner, Norman Jewison, David Cronenberg, Alex Trebek, Art Linkletter and Dan Aykroyd have in the popular perception become American, and Christopher Plummer, British.

> It is as if, in the very act of becoming famous, a Canadian ceases to be Canadian, unless she is Margaret Atwood, who is as unshakably Canadian as a moose, or Celine Dion, for whom Canada has proved quite unable to find any takers.

> Moreover, Canada is every bit as querulously alert to the achievements of its sons and daughters as the rest of the world is completely unaware of them. The Canadians proudly say of themselves – and are unheard by anyone else – that 1% of the world’s population has provided 10% of the world’s peacekeeping forces.

> Canadian soldiers in the past half century have been the greatest peacekeepers on Earth – in 39 missions on UN mandates, and six on non-UN peacekeeping duties, from Vietnam to East Timor, from Sinai to Bosnia.

> Yet the only foreign engagement that has entered the popular non-Canadian imagination was the sorry affair in Somalia, in which out-of-control paratroopers murdered two Somali infiltrators. Their regiment was then disbanded in disgrace – a uniquely Canadian act of self-abasement for which, naturally, the Canadians received no international credit.

> So who today in the United States knows about the stoic and selfless friendship its northern neighbour has given it in Afghanistan?

> Rather like Cyrano de Bergerac, Canada repeatedly does honourable things for honourable motives, but instead of being thanked for it, it remains something of a figure of fun. It is the Canadian way, for which Canadians should be proud, yet such honour comes at a high c

How do I help my friend to help herself?
I no longer know how to deal with my friend’s confidence issues but she will not get the help I and others know she needs. She feels that no one will ever love her, that she isn’t worthy and that she and she alone is the recipient of a horrible lot of bad luck when it comes to relationships being snatched away from her before they begin.

I’ve gone as far as I can trying to be understanding, giving her self-esteem boosting mantras and insisting that the right man will come along and she won’t end up lonely but she just isn’t getting anywhere. We’re in university, she’s never had a boyfriend and the most recent turn of events saw her getting really close to a guy only to have him snatched up by another girl we know. She’s devastated and although things like this have happened before, she’s taking this one extremely hard.

What do I do to convince her that she needs to talk to a counsellor (as we, her friends, are all tapped out) and how do I respond to her when she brings up the most recent incident? I feel horrible but something in me just keeps thinking that bad things happen to good people and she needs to pick herself up and move on. I have nothing more to tell her but I don’t want to blow her off or seem un-supportive (I completely support her feelings, just not the way she’s dealing with them).

Should obese kids be taken from their families by CPS to improve their health? See link below…?
…for story in Australia:
http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/st ory/0,22049,24994193-5006007,00.html

I have mixed feelings about this. Obesity is often caused or worsened by environmental factors, so removing a kid form their family for a while may have great health benefits. On the other hand, this seems like a very slippery slope. So many medical conditions are impacted by environmental factors, such a policy could be used to take almost any child from their family. Should government be limited in their powers even if the child’s health and fitness are at risk?

This is very tricky, because, at first I’m thinking to myself that the government shouldn’t be allowed to remove children from their parents based on obesity. Then I’m thinking that, if the parents are really the ones causing the problem and the problem has become very dangerous for the child, then that is a form of child neglect or even possibly abuse.

I think that sometimes social services gets carried away and removes a child from a home and asks questions later. We’ve all heard horror stories of blameless parents who lost their child(ren) and took years to recover them once a person or persons in social services had made up their mind about the case and that the parents were to blame.

However, we have all heard even more stories where children "fell between the cracks" and were horribly abused, neglected and even died or were intentionally killed by parents.

I wouldn’t like to see something like this get way out of control, like two or three decades ago when some child caregivers were accused of abusing children and even spent years in jail before finally being exonerated. Turned out that social services were (most likely without malice) giving cues to the small children that made them agree that they had been touched inappropriately, etc. Just recently, there was the taking of lots of children from polygamists. Now, polygamy is against the law and I’m not defending it, but it turns out that the government had no right to take the children and had to return them. The incident was triggered by one anonymous telephone call and that was definitely an overreaction to take the kids without some further investigation.

The article you cited above says that this proposal would only take place after really everything else had been tried. I don’t really like the government having more control over our lives, especially the ability to take our children. However, if a child’s life is being endangered by incredible obesity and the evidence is absolutely incontrovertible that the parents are continuing to feed the child inappropriately, and the child is getting worse, not making any progress (children should be placed on diets where they lose weight slowly from what I’ve heard) then someone does need to step in.

If the child is old enough, perhaps the family could be educated as a whole.

This is a very good question for discussion. My final vote is that social services should be able to step in and remove a child for a time, until health is improved, and the family establishes sounder eating and exercise habits. The slippery slope here is, as always, who is making those determinations….let us pray that it would be intelligent and fair-minded individuals with a manageable caseload.

| Feb 04, 2010

They shouldn’t be taken from their home, but monitoring the child’s health monthly, and having a counselor show up regularly to monitor what is going on, and possibly imposing fines/fees on people who are destroying their children’s health might motivate them to stop stuffing cheese doodles down their children’s mouths. Especially when

a.) they’ve received nutritional counseling
b.) they’ve received medical counseling concerning where obesity and diabetes leads
c.) take them to a hospital, show them videos of young people getting limbs removed from vascular disease, heart failure.

If this doesn’t work, then maybe get more serious…

I’d rather see a ruling in schools, that if you aren’t below a certain weight, you can’t pass for the year. After all, why bother having a gym class to begin with if you aren’t going to do that?

Oh gee, thumbs down. Wonder why?

Jilm_Jones | Feb 03, 2010

slippery slope yes n deed! I was shock to say the less when I saw what appeared to be 4 or 5 year old boy extremely over weight at the mall the other day with my wife(VERY SAD). Some type of monitoring from cps should be done, weather intentionally or unintentionally the child is being abused / but to take the child away from its family should be the last resort
octubre | Feb 03, 2010

You do realize how bad things are for kids when the state takes care of them, right?

The idea is absurd. If anything the schools should be providing better food and drinks at school, banning vending machines with junk food and crappy drinks along with providing decent meals in the cafeteria.

It does not cost much to do this which can be shown for instance in Jamie Olivers show on kids meals at schools.

Banning junk food and drinks from advertising to kids like we did with smokes and so on. Parents do play a huge role but to blame them solely is flat out naive, a way to offload the blame.

Besides, the public would not stand for this, it would be like poison for any political party to bring a law into being that would seperate families based on weight.

Anyway, if this is the case and it seems that feeding a kid too much amounts to child abuse why not address the issue in adults? Shut down McDonalds and KFC, ban Coke and so on. It’s only fair we look to companies who get rich from serving up trash.
Simon S | Feb 03, 2010

Going into a foster care family would create additional stress and would not aid in solving the obesity issue in the child. This is a very bad idea and would set an open door precedent for the government to step in and meddle in every family at will. Agencies ought to provide counseling, therapy, and medical assistance to discover the causes for the obesity. It could very well be genetic and not easily solvable.
Eric | Feb 03, 2010

but in This country(USA) CPS takes the kids away for abuse, neglect, if your housing is in bad shape, no food etc.. .so YES I think maybe it should happen. It literally breaks my heart when I see a child 9 or 10 that is gravely obese…..I grew up like that. My parents were quite thin, and frankly I must have got the FAT gene from some generation but my life was hell… .12 years of school were so brutal…. .and frankly it didn;’t get much better in my early 20’s. My parents had me on every diet and took me to doctors etc.. .but it wasn’t until I was 25 that I actually took control and lost the weight. Losing 211lbs and keeping it off now for over 20 years. But many of the parents I see with obese children are obese themselves, surely if they don[’t care for themselves at least think about your kids. Diabetes, heart disease, just to name of few along with the ridicule that goes with being overweight. Its something you NEVER forget or get over…. .it will haunt your children. Good God their your children, Your in charge….. .FEED them properly……guide them towards nutrition instead of taking the easy road home to McDonalds. If you allow your child to get fat…. .you have just sentenced him to a lifetime of cruelty. Many kids DO not OUTGROW it, its not baby fat…….. .CPS should step in and give the child a chance to improve their health & possibly save their life! when you over feed your child and allow them to become obese… .you are jeopardizing their health…… .its not normal for an 9 year old to be 200 lbs……. .some where along the line the cycle of abuse has to be to be broken.

how do i get rid of anxiety i get from smoking weed?
Ok so here is the story, and please dont post for me to stop smoking or your an idiot or any of that you guys dont know how much I need this to be cured and if you have had it to you know what im saying. I have been smoking weed for about 2 years now, I use to get high and stoned and just hangout with friends kick back and have a good time, until last winter (winter 2009) I smoked one time and felt some really wierd unexplanable things going on it my body. I kept smoking for a while and the same things kept happening, it went away in the spring than one day I got it bad so I went to the hospital told them I had stomach pains which is where the pain was, and that water helped and burping felt better all that shit. They told me I had acid reflux so I cut down on smoking and started eating healthy thinking I had acid reflux, after drinking I was told alcohol would aggervate your acid reflux symptoms the most but when I would drink I would be fine and when I would drink and smoke weed I would be fine. I could also eat any food and feel fine so I figure I dont have acid reflux(I had multilpe acid reflux tests everything came out normal) going for my last test next week to determine if I have it or not, I’m still taking my acid reflux medicines 2s a day and have been for a while. So what lead to me think I had acid reflux was because I would smoke and feel like shit only when I smoke I later realzied that this is prolly anxiety, When I smoke I need fresh air and water otherwise I feel helpless. I dont know why I get anxiety when I smoke I always want to get a good high but always freak out no matter how high I’m, when someone asks me if I want to smoke my heart rate increases just thinking about it more often than not I wont smoke with people just by myself but once in a while I will and yesterday I smoked with my friend a jeeb, minutes after I had to step out of my car walk around and get some fresh air I couldnt drive my car I was to paranoid when I was in the car I felt heart attacks coming on at some points (I’m only 18)! I tried to relax myself but its hard when your high so eventually after walking around the neighborhood downing multiple water bottles and trying to chill out I drove my friend home and went home still preety fuckin high since it was only like 45 minutes passed in time, when I went in I felt better I was watching basektball and sitting next to my window breathing in and out trying to relax I still stayed high for about an hour after I got home was not nearly as paranoid just kinda relaxed and enjoyed my high, but how do I get rid of this anxiety so when I smoke with my friends I’m nice and relaxed…… dont tell me to stop smoking cause I cut down big time I went from an everyday smoker to only a few times a week I just want to enjoy being a kid I’m only 18 years old. I’m going to a shrink next week to talk about anxiety I’m going to tell him about all this but I tried some tips I got offline to no avile. Did anyone experience anxiety from weed and was abel to over come it? Like I said earlier I had it last year for a while it went away I dont know how but its been back for a while now
I know its anxiety and tis all in my head but my head wont let me chill out I always feel things coming up my throat and water always has to wash it down and if i dont ill feel like my throat is going to close up even though its not at all just HELP ME

Simple stop smoking weed why would you say that this is obv a big deal to him he writes you an essay to try and get an idea of what hes going through and you come with that screw you man. Listen just try and chill out thats really all you can do the anxiety cant hurt you its all in your head its really that simple just chill out smoke some ganja
